We can’t stop it

It’s 800 degrees in the shade and I’m getting ready to go outside. It’s hot in the house even with the air conditioning on. Maybe it’s just me, I’m always hot these days. For the past three years, HOT. Nothing I can do about it, not unless something really strange happened.

Dressed in head-to-toe linen, some sort of Southern summer ritual, and I’m still hot. Ceiling fan on the perfect setting and I’m still hot. Shouldn’t have drank that soda, oh well. I’ll go back to cold water and we’ll see what happens.

It’s 800 degrees in the shade and I’m getting ready to go outside. Don’t bring the ice cream.

Closer maybe…

I was going to leave the house today, go to one of our woefully inadequate art museums to see a new exhibit I’ve been waiting on. I was ready, dressed up like a normal human being, waiting for it to get closer to opening time. I started feeling horrible, like I wanted to go back to bed, go to sleep, and start all over. Every fiber of my body fighting the urge to stay awake and “healthy”. My head hurt, my muscles were tired, I was ugly. I decided not to leave the house. So, I did more searching, ate some junk, and now I’ll continue my soccer watching. I’ve not watched anything else lately…

I’ll try again tomorrow to venture to the art exhibit, stroll the grounds, take photos, be alone.

Then, I’ll start all over again, without the art.
